When to send a stand instead of a wreath

The two names get used loosely in Singapore, and many florists sell the same arrangement under both. The practical difference is who it comes from. A stand is the larger tribute, and it is what companies, associations and groups of colleagues usually send, because the organisation’s name should be easy to read across the hall. One person or one family paying respects usually sends a funeral wreath instead.

Wording when it comes from a company

Name the organisation rather than any one person, unless the family knew them directly. If colleagues are putting in together, “[Company name] and colleagues” reads better than a list of names that will not fit on the card. When the deceased is a staff member’s parent, address the card to the family. The card is free on every stand, and we will help with the wording in English or Chinese. Start from one of these:

What does a stand cost?

Ours start at S$103 and most sit between S$150 and S$280. Company tributes usually land between S$180 and S$300. Splitting one stand between two or three people is common. One person orders, and the card carries all the names or the group.

Delivery to the wake

Give us the parlour and the hall or lot number in the address, and order by 5pm for delivery the same day, free to most Singapore addresses. Our drivers are at 30 to 40 wakes across Singapore in a typical week, so chances are we have delivered to that parlour before. A few restricted addresses, such as ports, shipyards and army camps, need access arranged first. WhatsApp us if the wake is at one of those.
