Choosing a funeral wreath

How much should you spend?

Go by your relationship with the family. Friends and colleagues usually send something in the S$93 to S$160 range. Close friends and relatives tend to pick the fuller designs between S$160 and S$230. The large cross and double designs above S$230 are usually family tributes, and those take the front positions at the hall.

Which colours are right?

For Chinese Buddhist and Taoist wakes, stay with white, cream and yellow, mostly chrysanthemums, and leave red out. Cross designs suit Christian and Catholic wakes. Hindu families usually arrange the flowers themselves, and Muslim families often prefer none at all, so ask the family first in both cases. If you are unsure, tell us the parlour and the faith and we will suggest what we normally send there.

What do you write on the card?

Every wreath comes with a free message card, and we will help you word it in English or Chinese. If the words will not come, start from one of these and change what you need:

• Our Deepest Sympathies, [Company name] and colleagues

Delivery to the wake

Put the parlour name and the hall or lot number in the delivery address and we handle the rest. Delivery is free to most Singapore addresses, and an order in by 5pm arrives the same day, every day of the year. If the wake has already started, you are not too late. Most wakes run three to five days, and a wreath arriving on the second or third evening is still welcome.

You get two photos on WhatsApp: one before the wreath leaves the studio, and one once it is standing at the wake.
